Defence Minister Seeks Public Support for Troops During Meeting With Pastor Muoka

The Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, has called for continued national support for Nigerian troops battling insecurity across the country, stressing that moral encouragement and prayers remain vital to the success of ongoing military operations.

General Musa made the call on Tuesday while receiving the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Lazarus Muoka, during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

According to the Defence Minister, the fight against insurgency, banditry, terrorism and other criminal activities requires a collective national effort involving citizens, religious organisations and other stakeholders.

“The fight against insecurity is not for the military alone. It requires the collective support of all Nigerians, especially moral and spiritual encouragement from religious bodies,” Musa said.

He noted that prayers and encouragement from faith-based organisations continue to strengthen the morale of troops deployed across various theatres of operation.

“Our troops remain committed and resilient in defending the territorial integrity of Nigeria, and the support we receive from religious leaders and citizens gives them added motivation to continue the fight,” he stated.

The Defence Minister commended Pastor Muoka and members of the church for their sustained prayers and support for the Armed Forces, while reaffirming the military’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the country.

He also urged religious leaders to continue promoting peace, unity, patriotism and national cohesion.

“Faith-based organisations have a critical role to play in fostering harmony, national unity and supporting ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in the country,” Musa added.

In his remarks, Pastor Muoka pledged the church’s continued support for the Armed Forces and the Federal Government.

“We will continue to pray for our Armed Forces and for the peace of Nigeria. God will strengthen our troops and grant them victory over every threat confronting the nation,” the cleric said.

Pastor Muoka also offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, good health and the capacity to lead Nigeria towards peace, stability and economic prosperity.

“We pray that God grants President Tinubu divine wisdom and guidance to lead Nigeria into greater peace, unity and prosperity,” he said.

The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs and reaffirmed the commitment of both the Ministry of Defence and the Christian community to continued collaboration in advancing national peace, unity and security.
