Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has drawn attention to the hurdles President Bola Ahmed Tinubu may face in securing a second term, emphasizing that the outcome of the 2027 elections is not guaranteed.
In a statement issued through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric attributed potential difficulties to the influence of advisors he described as deceitful, as well as ongoing challenges in national security and the economy.
“The president is surrounded by people who praise him falsely, preventing him from seeing the reality of the issues at hand. Security and economic concerns need urgent attention,” Ayodele said.
The cleric identified the South-East and Northern regions as areas that could present significant political challenges, warning that these zones are not yet secured in terms of electoral support.
“You will have major problems in the north and south east, and I don’t know if there is any remedy at this stage,” he noted.
Ayodele also urged Nigerians to seek spiritual guidance and collective intervention to ensure a fair and successful election in 2027.
“Nigeria needs divine intervention for a successful electoral process. While Tinubu has good intentions for the country, the influence around him could obscure his ability to act effectively,” he added.
This statement shifts the focus from Tinubu’s personal prospects to broader structural challenges, highlighting both political and security concerns that could shape the upcoming election.
