President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting local and foreign investments as Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing him, commissioned the Abuja City Walk Development Sales and Experience Centre in the Federal Capital Territory.
The Sales and Experience Centre, located in the Abuja Technology Village (ATV) Area along the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport corridor, marks a major milestone for the Abuja City Walk project—a landmark mixed-use urban development designed to integrate residential, commercial, cultural and leisure facilities while positioning the FCT as a hub for business, tourism and innovation.
Speaking at the commissioning on Thursday, Tinubu said Nigeria remains open for business, with his administration strengthening legal, financial and regulatory frameworks to protect investments, guarantee returns and eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks.
“We are not just opening a building. We are unveiling the window to a multi-billion-dollar future. We are presenting a tangible manifestation of our Renewed Hope Agenda, sculpted in concrete, innovation and unwavering determination,” the President said.
He described the Sales and Experience Centre as an opportunity for investors, residents and development partners to experience the vision behind one of Abuja’s most ambitious smart city and urban regeneration projects.
“The City Walk Experience Centre stands as proof that our administration does not just make promises; we execute them with determination,” he added.
Tinubu said the Abuja City Walk project demonstrates what can be achieved through collaboration between government and the private sector, noting that the Free Trade Zone status granted to the corridor would encourage regional commerce, medical tourism, premium retail and high-end hospitality.
“The Abuja City Walk is a shining symbol of what can be achieved when political will meets private sector expertise and capital,” he said.
The President also commended the Federal Capital Territory Administration under Minister Nyesom Wike for transforming the long-dormant Abuja Technology Village corridor into a major construction and investment hub.
“For 20 years, the Abuja Technology Village corridor lay dormant. Today, through aggressive land administration reforms and the eradication of bureaucratic inertia, it is being transformed into a bustling construction hub,” Tinubu said.
He maintained that his administration had ended the era of land speculation in the capital.
“We have made it clear that land is an asset for rapid development, not an instrument for developmental retrogression and speculative hoarding,” he stated.
Earlier, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike said the Abuja City Walk project aligns with the Tinubu administration’s objective of attracting foreign direct investment and creating employment opportunities for Nigerians.
Executive Director of Link Development, Dr. Kassim Gidado, said the development would feature residential estates, commercial districts, educational institutions, recreational facilities, worship centres, shopping malls, a Free Trade Zone and a green corridor, creating a modern city within Abuja.
BroadGate Development Group Chief Executive Officer, Peter John Young, described the project as one that would redefine urban development in Africa, while Benoy’s Deputy Director and Master Planner, Neil Serridge, said it would deliver world-class architecture and landmark infrastructure.
The event ended with Vice President Shettima and other dignitaries touring the newly commissioned Abuja City Walk Development Sales and Experience Centre.
