APC Extends Nomination Forms Deadline.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced an extension of deadlines for the sale and submission of nomination forms for aspirants preparing for the 2027 general elections, alongside adjustments to its screening timetable.

The development is contained in a revised timetable and schedule of activities released by the party, aligning with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026, and guidelines by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC said the decision was taken to allow broader participation and ensure a seamless nomination process.

“The party has approved a further extension of the timelines for the sale and submission of completed Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, as well as the screening process,” Morka stated.

According to the revised schedule, the sale of forms will now close at midnight on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, while submission of completed forms has been extended to midnight on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

“The adjustment is aimed at accommodating all prospective aspirants and ensuring that no one is disadvantaged by earlier timelines,” he added.

The party also disclosed that screening of aspirants will now hold from Friday, May 8, to Tuesday, May 12, 2026, with the publication of screened aspirants slated for Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

Beyond the screening phase, the timetable shows that primary elections for various offices will commence on May 15, 2026, beginning with the House of Representatives, while the presidential primary is scheduled for May 23, 2026.

The document, signed by Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, also outlines fees for nomination forms across positions, with presidential aspirants expected to pay a total of ₦100 million, while governorship forms cost ₦50 million.

Morka emphasized that the APC remains committed to a transparent and inclusive process.

“These timelines reflect our resolve to conduct a credible and well-organised exercise as we prepare for the 2027 general elections,” he said.
