APC Signs National Peace Accord Ahead of 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful and issue-based campaigns ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Wednesday attended the first signing of the National Peace Accord in Abuja, joining other political leaders in pledging to promote peaceful conduct throughout the electoral process.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed the accord through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, while Prof. Yilwatda signed on behalf of the APC.

Prof. Yilwatda said the accord reflects the party’s commitment to democracy, national unity and credible elections.

“The APC remains committed to issue-based campaigns and a peaceful electoral environment that allows Nigerians to freely exercise their democratic rights,” he said.

The accord commits political parties and candidates to shun violence, hate speech and other actions capable of undermining the electoral process.

The APC said it remains focused on promoting campaigns centered on policies, ideas and national development as the country prepares for the 2027 polls.
