Ayra Starr says she is striving to live a Christ-like life

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr has shared insights into her personal faith, revealing that she is working toward living a life that reflects the character and values of Jesus Christ.

The music star made the remarks during a recent livestream with online personality Jarvis, where she spoke openly about her relationship with God and how she approaches spirituality.

During the conversation, the singer explained that although her faith remains strong, her spiritual life goes beyond regularly attending church services. She said her goal is to embody the qualities associated with Jesus Christ, even though she acknowledges that she has not yet reached that level.

“I can only try to be as perfect as Jesus is. I am not there yet, but I’m trying my best,” she said.

The All The Love crooner also noted that her connection with God and the Holy Spirit is personal and not limited to being physically present in a church environment.

According to her, faith can be expressed in different ways, depending on an individual’s spiritual journey and understanding.

However, her comments about organized religion sparked reactions online. The singer suggested that certain aspects of religion may feel restrictive to some people, adding that personal faith should allow room for individual experiences with God.

“You know everything that comes with religion is kind of limiting. God says let it be unto you according to your faith. I have found a way that works for me,” she said.

She added that her current approach to spirituality gives her peace and that she is comfortable with the path she has chosen for now.

“I have found a way that works for me and that is what is working for me, and I am fine with it for now,” she concluded.
