Embattled Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has once again denied allegations against him, insisting that claims circulating on social media are false.
Speaking during an interview on the Talk to B Podcast, the actor maintained his innocence, stating, “I am not a paedophile. Iyabo Ojo once left her kids in my care when they were younger.” He stressed that he never had any romantic or physical relationship with actress Princess, saying, “I never asked her out, never dated her, never hugged or kissed her.”
Baba Ijesha further alleged that Princess had a history of falling out with people close to her, adding, “She has betrayed everyone she has been friends with.” He also expressed disappointment over Iyabo Ojo’s involvement in the matter, claiming she once trusted him enough to leave her children, including Priscilla, in his care.
Addressing the allegations directly, he swore to his innocence, declaring, “If it is true I committed such an act, let me not come back from prison, let me die there.” He added that he is neither a rapist nor a paedophile and insisted that events have been misrepresented. He also claimed to have a witness to support his version of events.
However, actress Iyabo Ojo has responded strongly, warning the actor to stop involving her children in the controversy. In a statement shared via social media, she said, “I honestly have no problem with you telling your side of the story, but take this as a notice to cease and desist from using my children as your cheap bait. It won’t fly.”
She refuted his claims, stating that her children were never left alone in his care. “My kids have always had nannies or my late mum with them, and they were never alone,” she said, adding that at her former business in Ilupeju, she had multiple staff members and would not have relied on him for errands involving her children.
Iyabo Ojo also emphasised the seriousness of the allegations, noting, “That 14-year-old girl was a minor, and sexual assault is never okay. It is a crime. You should show some remorse.”
She further referenced the court’s decision, stating, “The court found you guilty based on evidence, so please don’t drag my kids into this. Stop mentioning their names or I will direct my counsel to take legal action.”
The actress concluded by criticising attempts to spread misinformation, reiterating her stance against child abuse and calling for accountability.
