Prominent economist and banker, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has officially picked up his presidential nomination form at the national headquarters of the African Democratic Congress, becoming the first aspirant to declare interest in the party’s ticket for the 2027 presidential election.
Hayatu-Deen, a respected investor and corporate leader from Borno State, was received by supporters and party loyalists who gathered at the ADC headquarters in Abuja in a show of solidarity and growing confidence in the party ahead of the next general elections.
Speaking shortly after obtaining the form, Hayatu-Deen said Nigeria needed leadership focused on security, economic recovery, and improving the welfare of citizens.
“This election must be about securing our communities, rebuilding confidence in the economy, creating jobs, and making life more affordable for Nigerians,” he stated.
The presidential hopeful said the country could overcome its current challenges through visionary leadership, sound economic policies, and national unity.
“Nigeria has the human and natural resources to prosper. What we need is competent leadership that can unlock opportunities, restore hope, and build a future that works for every Nigerian,” he said.
Hayatu-Deen also emphasized the need to create opportunities for young people and restore investor confidence in the economy.
“Our youths deserve jobs, businesses deserve support, and families deserve relief from the rising cost of living. We cannot continue with policies that leave millions struggling,” he added.
Supporters at the event described his emergence as a major boost for the ADC, expressing optimism that the party could provide a credible alternative platform for Nigerians seeking political change in 2027.
Party faithful at the gathering chanted solidarity songs and waved party flags as the aspirant officially joined the presidential contest.
Hayatu-Deen is widely known for his decades-long career in banking, investment, and economic management, earning recognition as one of Nigeria’s notable private sector figures.
His formal entry into the race is expected to intensify early political activities within the ADC as parties begin positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
