NNPC Retail has commissioned its first technology-powered self-service smart station in Abuja, introducing automated fuel dispensing and other modern services to motorists.
The facility, located along Bill Clinton Drive, Airport Road, Abuja, operates 24 hours a day and allows customers to independently complete transactions and dispense the exact quantity of fuel they require.
Speaking at the commissioning, Executive Vice President, Downstream, NNPC Ltd., Dr. Mumuni Dagazau, described the facility as “a reflection of NNPC Retail’s commitment to innovation, convenience, operational efficiency and improved customer experience.”
Dagazau said the project represents an important step in the company’s efforts to modernise its retail operations and provide motorists with more convenient services.
He also commended the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for “providing the land and supporting the partnership that made the project possible.”
Managing Director of NNPC Retail, Mr. Huub Stokman, said the facility “demonstrates the changes in Nigeria’s downstream industry” and reflects the company’s determination to keep pace with changing consumer needs.
According to Stokman, the company is committed to meeting consumer expectations for “quality, convenience, speed and reliable service.”
He said the self-service model would give customers greater control over their transactions while improving the speed and convenience of fuel purchases.
The smart station features electric vehicle charging points, an automated car wash, lubricant service bay, LPG dispensing and other lifestyle offerings.
NNPC Retail also plans to expand its energy solutions at the facility to include Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
The commissioning marks a new chapter in NNPC Retail’s drive to transform conventional filling stations into “smart energy, mobility and lifestyle destinations.”
The company said the initiative would help deliver a “more convenient, technology-driven and customer-focused retail experience” as it expands its modern retail model across Nigeria.
