NMA Denies Issuing Breast Cancer Report Linked to Blessing CEO

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Delta State branch, has clarified that it did not issue a histology report circulating online and attributed to relationship coach Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO.

The association explained that the document was altered from an original result issued to another patient diagnosed with breast cancer, and that Blessing Okoro had no connection to the report.

In a statement signed by its chairman, Israel Adaigho, and secretary, Usamah Hannah, the NMA clarified that the report in question was issued on May 9, 2025, by Xinus Medical Diagnostics to a patient identified as Mbara Deborah not Blessing Okoro.

“The report currently in circulation was altered from the original result issued to another patient and does not belong to Blessing Okoro,” the association stated.

According to the NMA, the test was conducted following a referral from a private hospital in Asaba for a confirmatory breast cancer diagnosis.

“Xinus Medical Diagnostics is located in Asaba, Delta State and did not at any time issue any report to Blessing Okoro,” the statement read.

The association further disclosed that the proprietor of the facility, O.A. Odigwe, a consultant pathologist and member of the NMA, raised the alarm after the document went viral online.

“The proprietor contacted the association to clarify the misinformation and dissociate the facility from the altered report,” the statement added.

The NMA explained that the original test was requested in May 2025 by a doctor from a private hospital in Asaba, who sought a confirmatory diagnosis for a suspected breast cancer case involving his patient.

The association warned against the spread of misinformation, particularly on sensitive health matters, urging the public to verify medical reports through appropriate channels.

“We urge the public to disregard the circulating document and refrain from sharing unverified medical information capable of causing panic or reputational harm,” the NMA said.
