President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration will remain steadfast in delivering reforms aimed at improving lives, declaring that he will not betray the trust placed in him.
The President gave the assurance on Thursday at the State House in Abuja while receiving members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led by Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
Tinubu said his government is actively restructuring the nation’s economic and political systems to dismantle long-standing barriers to prosperity and open up opportunities for citizens across all sectors.
He emphasised that inclusive participation remains central to his administration’s vision, noting that empowering Nigerians to shape their own future would ultimately strengthen the country.
“One thing you need from me is a promise I will not run away from the affairs of this nation. I will not let Nigerians down,” he said.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, as well as several governors and key political figures from across the country.
Tinubu charged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to deepen engagement at the grassroots, particularly by educating citizens on the impact of ongoing reforms targeted at boosting economic growth and supporting vulnerable populations.
“You are the conscience of a nation determined to break free from poverty and hopelessness,” he told the group, urging sustained mobilisation.
The President also reiterated his commitment to democratic governance, stressing the importance of respecting the rule of law, judicial independence and institutional balance.
“We must uphold lawful authority and strengthen our democratic institutions. That is how we build one united nation,” he said.
Addressing critics, Tinubu dismissed opposition narratives, maintaining that transformative leadership requires resilience and consistency.
“If I have to walk this path again and again, I will. Nation-building is not easy, but it is necessary,” he stated.
Earlier, Uzodimma said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors had made significant progress nationwide, with structures established from state to polling unit levels to drive civic engagement and political awareness.
“Our operations are active and expanding. We are engaging markets, schools, professional groups and grassroots communities across the country,” he said.
Former Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, praised Tinubu’s resolve, describing him as a leader willing to take difficult but necessary decisions for the country’s long-term benefit.
He added that stakeholders in the North-West remain supportive of the administration and would continue to mobilise backing for its policies.
Also present were former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim and former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, among others.
The engagement highlighted the administration’s efforts to strengthen political structures while advancing reforms aimed at achieving sustainable growth and national development.
