Tinubu Praises Bayelsa Projects, Reaffirms Commitment to People-Centred Development

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lauded ongoing infrastructure projects in Bayelsa State, describing them as critical to improving access, connectivity, and economic opportunity for residents.

Speaking during a visit to the state, Tinubu said the projects represent more than physical development, but a broader investment in the well-being of the people.

“Standing in Bayelsa today, what I saw was more than infrastructure, The New Yenagoa City Road 1 is about access. The Angiama–Oporoma Bridge is about connection. The Bayelsa Independent Power Project is about opportunity.” he said

The President stressed the need for governments at all levels to remain focused on initiatives that directly impact citizens, pledging continued collaboration with states that prioritize people-oriented policies.

“At every level, government must stay focused on what works for people, and our administration will continue to collaborate with states serious about putting people first,” Tinubu stated.

He added that such efforts help build trust and optimism among citizens.

“When we do this, we are not just building projects. We are building confidence in our future as a people and as a nation,” he said.

Tinubu also commended Governor Douye Diri for his leadership, noting his administration’s focus on the welfare of the people.

“I must commend Governor Douye Diri for putting the people first. Thank you, Bayelsa. Nigeria will surely succeed,” the President said.
